Sojourn Church
First, we believe that spiritual formation is a “process” of growth that begins when one develops an awareness of God.  From there comes the commitment to follow.  As this process continues one begins maturing as a follower of Jesus.  This process is cyclical (almost spiral) and repeats itself over and over again.

There are also different "environments" for which spiritual formation is given a context.  They are:

Communal - living in relationships.
(Sunday gatherings, home gatherings, one on one relationships, etc.)

Interactive - active dialogue.
(blogging, worship stations, discussion in our gatherings)

Rhythmic - creating space in our lives.
(prayer, silence, solitude, meditation, simplicity, etc)

Missional - living out our faith in this world through love.
(compassion ministries, social justice issues, daily life)

The last part of the strategy includes the “agents” of spiritual formation.  These are things that God uses to work in our hearts and in our lives.  These include Scripture, our faith community, struggle and the Holy Spirit.

So that's our strategy.  Sojourn needs to be a place where we encounter God in various ways and situations and are transformed.
Here is a visual diagram. our strategy How do you strategize "church success"?   What does it mean to be successful at being the church?  It seems any attempt to work this out lacks.  It seems shallow.  But, we must try as a faith community to be intentional about how we help each other follow Jesus.

We believe the strategy is spiritual formation.  The strategy, if you will, is to allow God to change us.  So here is our attempt to use human words and pictures to show something that only God can accomplish.  about us values creed strategy gatherings other stuff contact us blog home
