Sojourn Church

The calling to start a new kind of church...

When you tell people that you're a part of a new church one of the first questions they usually ask is, "Where is the church?"  Typically what they are asking is, "Where is the building?"  Since the goal of Sojourn is not to build a building, but rather a family, it is tough to answer in a simple way.  But it is a good question on a much deeper level.  In starting a new church, where will the people come from?  God has been putting a vision and desire in the hearts of many to form a church that doesn't focus on money and buildings, or the latest trend for church growth, but rather the basic call to be faithful followers and representatives of Christ in the world around us.  We will study the Bible.  We will pray.  We will serve the poor in our community.  We will worship God in spirit and truth, and we will be open to sharing and hearing from each others different perspectives and experiences without putting on masks or hiding behind defensive doctrines.  We describe our vision this way, "we are a community of messy people on a journey together to follow Jesus by loving God and loving others."  Perhaps this is the church family you have been longing to be a part of too.
